Urban Decay at Mecca

28 July 2016, by Forrest Chase

If you identify as a make-up addict, chances are ‘Urban Decay Cosmetics’ roughly translates to ‘Welcome to Heaven’.

A US beauty brand with a cult following, Urban Decay is beauty with an edge. Feminine, dangerous and fun, it is for women who relish the opportunity to express their individuality. Famous for their iconic (and often copied) NAKED Palettes, high performance formulations, vibrant colour explosions and budge-proof mascaras, Urban Decay has been shaking up the world of beauty for over 15 years.

Liking the sound of what you are reading? Overcome with the urge to get your hands on a NAKED eyeshadow palette? Well, you’re in luck – Urban Decay has just landed at Mecca at Myer Perth City!*

*We apologise to anyone within a 5 metre radius of Perth beauty aficionados. The shouts of joy must be slightly distracting. Come see what the fuss is all about today - Forrest Chase is open 7 days.

Ghost of a record store

27 June 2016, by Forrest Chase

Perth City is going through an unprecedented period of redevelopment, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t fantastic things happening in the CBD! While the City reshapes itself for the future, PerthFLUX takes over with a curatorial series of temporary artistic installations over a two-year period.

From Friday 8th July to the 12th August, Forrest Chase will be hosting Ghost of a Record Store - an artistic display that plays homage to past musical formats. Curated by Western Australian composer, artist and improviser Chris Cobilis, Ghost of a Record Store will be a replica record store equipped with turntables, cassette decks, CD players and other technology from an era gone by. For many people, record stores were half-way houses for the soul - a place to hang-out and elevatespirits through music.

Ghost of Record Store will open Friday 8th July 2016 at Shop 19, located on the ground level opposite the Forrest Place Fountains at Forrest Chase Shopping Centre until Friday 12th August 2016. Thursday to Sunday, 12 noon to 5pm.

Keep up to date on Ghost of a Record Store and other projects developed by the Perth Public Art Foundation through their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ppaf.com.au
