Autumn Winter Makeup Trends

24 July 2015, by Forrest Chase

We spoke to Hendra Widjaja as he worked his magic behind the scenes at our Autumn Winter photoshoot.

As one of Perth’s leading makeup artists he knows what’s on trend. For our shoot he created two bold looks. For the first look it was all in the eyes and the second was all about the lips!

In winter you can be bolder so we used a cream eyeshadow as a base to prevent creasing. Then we applied a dark metallic eye shadow across the eyelid and a lighter metallic in the corner of the eye. Paired with a nude lip, the overall look was a bit rock n roll glam.

To create the dark three dimensional lips, a dark lip liner was applied first, then a brighter red lipstick like MAC’s Ruby woo to give a neater 3D effect.

Yummy Lentil Spaghetti Bolognese courtesy of Woolworths at City Central

05 July 2015, by Forrest Chase

We love to devour a yummy bowl of pasta on a cold winter night. Especially this Bolognese with a twist! For more Italian inspired dining make sure you pick up the July copy of Woolworth’s Fresh Magazine, in-store and online now.

Prep 10 minutes Cook 25 mins Serves

Ingredients you will need to feed four hungry tummies…

500g Woolworths Select Spaghetti
2 tbs olive oil
1 brown onion, finely diced
2 garlic cloves, crush
I carrot, finely diced
2 celery sticks, finely diced
400g can diced tomatoes
420g can lentils, drained, rinsed
½ cup flat-leaf parsley leaves, roughly chopped
Shaved parmesan, to serve

Now to put it all together…

1. Cook pasta in large saucepan of boiling salted water following packet directions. Drain and return to pan.
2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot and celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in tomato and ½ cup water and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Stir in lentils and cook for 2 minutes or until heated through. Served pasta topped with lentil Bolognese and parmesan. It’s that easy!

Tip – reserve a little of the pasta cooking water and use it to thin the sauce, if desired.
